The Estate built the Lanhydrock Parish Beacon on one of the Estate farm’s, the lighting of which on 4th June 2012, was a great success and enjoyed by around 200 Lanhydrock Parishoners who attended the Parish Jubilee celebrations at the Lanhydrock Memorial Hall.

Lanhydrock Estate Car Boot Sales

Lanhydrock Estate is introducing a market on fields owned by the Estate at Turfdown roundabout, opposite the Bodmin Rugby Club. Car Boots Cornwall who have vast experience in this sector will be running car boot sales on Sunday evenings this Summer. The planned start date is Sunday July 1st at 5pm but this may be changed if the ground has not dried out in time. For up to date information please click on the link below.

Lanhydrock Estate are pleased to welcome Surf’s Up as the new tenant of the 29 acres of the foreshore of New Polzeath Beach owned by the Estate. The Estate received a number of tender applications. Surf’s Up reputation, professionalism and superior standards along with a clear understanding of what works on this hugely popular beach, made the Director’s decision an easy one.

Truro School Work Day

Truro School

On a very wet and windy day this week a 27 strong team of Year 11 and 12 Rugby and Football players from Truro School helped Lanydrock Estate move approximately one tonne of felled wood from an ancient wood on the Estate – a job which had needed doing for some time but had been impossible up to now because of the inaccessibility of the Wood being in a boggy and steep environment. As a thank you for the hard and impressive team work Lanhydrock Estate donated £1000 towards the Truro School South Africa Tour in July 2012.

Clean Cornwall Day

Clean Cornwall Day

The Lanhydrock Estate team along with several members of the Parish spent a morning on 19th April clearing rubbish from roadside verges and ditches in the parish contributing to the Clean Cornwall campaign organised by Cornwall Council and collected a huge amount of rubbish in just a few hours.

Princetown Shooting Lodge

This was a real find for Lanhydrock Estate – a hidden gem. With architectural mastery and a quality builder this old mill was transformed. The pond at the Lodge was restored by means of willow spilling.

New Turbine gets permission

Lanhydrock Estate was granted planning permission on 5 March to erect a Wind Turbine at Newtons Margate Farm, Bodmin with a hub height of 30m and a three bladed rotor of diameter of 19.2m. This permission lasts for 3 years until March 2015.
